Investigation underway after strike targeting al-Qaeda leader ‘may have resulted’ in civilian death

The US military is investigating a May 3 strike in Syria that “may have resulted” in a civilian being killed, according to a statement from US Central Command. In a tweet announcing the operation, Central Command said a senior al-Qaeda leader had been targeted – despite not yet having confirmation of who was actually killed in the strike, CNN’s Oren Libermann reports. #CNN #News
